Weekly Fire Alarm Test (C-TEC CFP with Apollo Resettable MCPs)

Weekly Fire Alarm Test for a C-TEC CFP System

(Using a Digital Logbook with QR Code and Guest Entry Form)

1. Preparation

Inform all occupants: As per standard procedure, announce that a fire alarm test is about to be conducted to prevent panic and disruption.
Initial Panel Check: Go to the C-TEC CFP panel and visually confirm it is in a "normal" state. This means the green "Power On" light is lit and there are no fault or fire warnings illuminated.

 2. Digital Logbook Access & ID Retrieval

Scan the QR Code: Use your smartphone or tablet to scan the digital logbook QR code located on or near the CFP panel.
Identify the Asset: Your device will display the unique "TAGiD Item" associated with the fire alarm panel.
Copy the TAG ID: Click the "copy TAG ID number" button to save the unique identifier to your device's clipboard.

 3. Test & Logging
 Access the Guest Entry Form:

Click the 3 dots menu on your screen.
Select "Guest Entry Form."

Paste the TAG ID: In the field labeled "TAG iD," paste the number you copied. This action directly links the test record to the specific CFP panel.

Activate an MCP: Select a different Manual Call Point (MCP) than you used last week, ensuring all are tested on a rotating basis. Activate the MCP.

Confirm Alarm Activation: The CFP panel's "Fire" and corresponding Zone lights will activate, and the alarm bells/sounders will begin to ring throughout the building. Walk around to confirm all alarms are working correctly.

Record Details in the Form: Fill out the guest entry form with the test details:

Confirmation that sounders and visual alarms functioned.
The location/zone of the activated MCP.
Your name or initials.
Any faults or observations you noted.

4. Reset & Completion

Silence the Alarm: At the CFP control panel, press the "Silence Alarms" button to stop the sounders. The "Fire" light will remain on.
Reset the MCP: Use the provided key or tool to reset the manual call point.
Reset the System: Press the "Reset" button on the panel. The "Fire" light should go out, and the panel should return to its normal, standby state.
Finalize the Log: Submit the completed guest entry form on your device. The test record is now officially logged, timestamped, and stored securely.
